Internet Browsers No Longer Supporting Java

Due to security vulnerabilities, most internet browsers are no longer supporting Java virtual machine. As browsers continue to discontinue Java support, we are no longer automatically installing Java on College-owned computers. This includes both classroom computers and other College-issued computers.

Key Benefits and Features

Increased security on College computers.

Impact on College Community

Many browsers already do not support Java. These include:

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Google Chrome
  • Updated Versions of Mozilla Firefox

If Java is absolutely necessary for business purposes, we have several workarounds, which include using an older version of Internet Explorer with Java. If you are interested in discussing these options, you can call the AIT Service Desk at 630.752.4357 (HELP).
