Meet-Me Option Removal from Campus Phones

Effective Date: February 1, 2017

On February 1, the Meet-Me option will be removed from campus VOIP phones as part of the switch to Conference Now as the College's phone conferencing service.

Key Benefits and Features

This update to VOIP phones will remove a defunct phone softkey that was previously used to initiate Meet-Me conference calls.

Conference Now is the new phone conferencing service.

  • Conference Now is more secure that Meet-Me.
  • Meeting organizers have a individual meeting code that passcode-protects conference calls.
  • Each meeting has an access code for participants.
  • Conference Now accommodates up to 16 callers

Impact on College Community

The Meet-Me softkey option on campus VOIP phones will be removed the evening of February 1. This update does not require any action from you. While your phone is not in use, it will automatically be reconfigured and the Meet-Me option removed.

During this update, your phone may briefly display a message that says "Phone not registered." This is part of the reconfiguration and your phone should return to normal in a few minutes.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like to request a Conference Now account, please contact Academic and Institutional Technology by email at ait.service.desk@wheaton.edu or call 630.752.4357(HELP).
