Migration of Network Home Directories to ThunderCloud Storage
Effective Date: October 23, 2015
Academic and Institutional Technology is committed to providing secure and reliable storage for Wheaton College data. As part of this commitment, we are removing outdated or redundant data storage services and moving eligible data into ThunderCloud Storage. We ask all employees who currently use Network Home Directories to move their data into ThunderCloud Storage by Friday, October 23.
Key Benefits and Features
ThunderCloud Storage has a number of advantages over Network Home Directories:
- Unlimited Storage – No more storage quotas.
- Online access from a web browser.
- Secure access to files from off campus, even without a VPN.
- Ability to share folders and files.
Impact on College Community
Employees who are currently using Network Home Directories will need to move their files by Friday, October 23 to ensure uninterrupted access. Academic and Institutional Technology is happy to help anyone who has questions or concerns about this process.
