Telephone Update

Effective Date: Summer 2015

We are updating our Wheaton campus phone system this summer, which includes a full factory reboot of all campus phones. One of our technicians will come by your office this summer to reboot your phone.

Key Benefits and Features

This update will reconnect each phone to the campus directory so all extensions are listed correctly. It will also restore directory access to all phones.

Impact on the College Community

This update should be minimally disruptive. The reboot takes approximately one minute, and you do not have to be present. Our technician will work with your department’s office coordinator to be let into offices on a particular day. For departments that do not have an office coordinator, Public Safety will grant access to offices.

In most cases, you will not lose any settings on your phone. However, if you have customized your phone’s ringtone, the ringtone will revert back to the default option. If you have a color-screen phone, your desktop background will also revert back to the original blue background. You can customize these features to match your preference by pressing the Settings button on your phone and selecting your desired option for ringtone and screen background.
