Dear New and Transfer Parents,

We look forward to welcoming you to campus next week! Below are several action steps that will help you prepare for Orientation.

Download the Orientation App
Our Student Engagement team has built a mobile app exclusively for Orientation 2021, and it has all the important information you’ll need to successfully navigate the weekend. If you want to download the app, go to the website, click the orange “Download the Guide” button, and follow the instructions from there.

Please note: if you are not currently in the Central Time Zone, schedules in the app will reflect your time zone and not local Wheaton time. The app will update to Wheaton/Chicago time when you enter the Central Time Zone.

Register to attend the Orientation Family Picnic
Our Saturday picnic is complimentary, but if you have not already registered, please do so (your Wheaton student is automatically registered, so you don’t need to include them). Registration deadline is Thursday, August 12.

Please Register by Thursday, August 12

Journals: begin thinking about what to write
When you arrive on campus, drop by one of our Parent Welcome Tents (located outside Fischer and Smith/Traber residence halls), where you can pick up a special journal to give to your student before saying your final goodbye. Start thinking now about what you would like to write in the front of the journal, be it a personal blessing of encouragement, or scripture passage, or prayer, for your student.

After the Saturday morning session, we will make time for you to give your student their journal with your handwritten notes. If you can’t come to campus, please send your word of encouragement, scripture passage, or written prayer to parents@wheaton.edu by Wednesday, August 18, with your name and your student’s first and last name. A group of faculty/staff has offered to pray with students whose parents aren’t here, and we will include your words in your student’s journal.

As always, if you have questions, send an email to parents@wheaton.edu or call us 630.752.5047. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Cindra Stackhouse Taetzsch ’82
Senior Director for Vocation and Alumni/Parent Engagement
