Staying Safe When You Connect from Off Campus

Are you doing College work off-campus?  AIT recently updated your options for Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software to help you make a secure internet connection from wherever you are. When you use an off-campus network connection (e.g. airport, hotel, coffee shop, home) you should assume that the connection is not secure. Thus, when accessing sensitive College data, you need to use the Global Protect VPN software tool that is pre-installed on your College issued computer. With the updated service you can choose to protect only Wheaton College data or all of the data that you are accessing over the public network. You can learn more about how Global Protect VPN software works.

If you have never used VPN and would like to get set up, feel free to reach out to the AIT Service Desk for help getting started.
