Banner and Cognos Unavailable During Update

Effective Dates: November 21-22, November 21-28

Banner and Banner Self-Service (my.wheaton.edu) will be unavailable on Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22. Cognos BI will be unavailable from Saturday, November 21 through Saturday, November 28. During this time, both systems will be updated to Operational Data Store (ODS) version 8.5.

Rationale

  • This update will allow the College's information systems to remain up-to-date

  • Version 8.5 is the most current release of Banner ODS, and fixes some bugs found in previous versions

Impact on College Community

During the update, Banner and Cognos will be unavailable.

  • Banner, including Banner Self-Service, will be unavailable on Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22.
  • Cognos will be unavailable from Saturday, November 21 through Saturday, November 28.

We will notify users if either update is completed ahead of schedule. Other than the scheduled downtime, this change is expected to have no impact on end users.
