My wife, Annabelle and I hail from Duluth, MN at the western tip of Lake Superior. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin, Superior just across the bridge. While teaching in southwest Wisconsin, I completed my M.S. in Physical Education - Pedagogy with an emphasis in Adventure Education at the University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse. This was also the period of my life when I accepted Christ. I spent the next 20 years in adventure and wilderness leadership and ministry before arriving at HoneyRock in 2018 as Adventure Programs Manager. I work with high school camper programs and with the graduate students in the M.A. in Outdoor Adventure Leadership, amongst other various roles at HoneyRock.

I have a passion for intruducing people to wild places and inspiring immersion into God's creation to meet the Creator in newfound ways. I believe camping, adventure, and wilderness experiences are amazing opportunities for evangelism and discipleship. Wilderness had an enormous influence on my own testimony of coming to Christ.  I want others to experience the same.  I am particularly passionate about training others as Outdoor Leaders. I am proud to be empowered by the mission and vision of HoneyRock, and my amazing collegues here.

Annabelle and I have been married for over a quarter century. We have two grown children, Erika and Bryn, who were raised in a life of adventure. My family and I love all things outdoors, and many athletic endeavors as well. I love all forms of outdoor adventure with a particular passion for wilderness canoeing. You might also find me in the woods hunting or at a local hockey rink playing my favorite sport.
