Personal Statement/Essay Reviews

The Health Professions director will review a student's final draft of their personal statement or primary essay for any health professional school application. To have your essay reviewed, please email your statement along with dates and times you will be available.

Mock Interviews

Mock Interviews give applicants to a health professions school the opportunity to practice interviewing in a less threatening environment.

Mock Interview Guidelines contain details in setting up and preparing for this exciting step in the application process. Once you have been invited to interview with a professional school, please complete this FORM to schedule a Mock Interview. The office requests at least one week's notice for scheduling.

Alumni are invited back to campus to participate in a Mock Interview evening with students currently in the application cycle. Students meet with physicians who simulate the interview experience for them and provide feedback. Traditional and Multiple Mini interviews were practiced.

For students unable to return to campus for interviews or current students desiring more practice, the Center for Vocation and Career offers Big Interview. A resource students can use to record themselves answering various interview questions. Feedback is then provided to the student if the video is submitted for review. Eight customized sets are provided to students to help them practice for medical, dental, nursing and physician assistant program interviews. Students taking a Gap Year are also provided a specific set of questions related to their experiences.
