Dr. Hsu’s research aims to understand how biological and synthetic materials are able to demonstrate advanced properties from nanoscale features. This research involves predicting their thermodynamic and mechanical behavior at the molecular scale using computational methods. Prior to completing his Ph.D. at Northwestern University in 2016, Dr. Hsu worked in Research & Development at Baxter Healthcare Corporation where he designed medical devices for patients with Chronic Myocardial Ischemia and Primary Immune Deficiency. Dr. Hsu met his wife, Angela, at Northwestern. They have a daughter and enjoy cooking, traveling, playing music, mentoring youth, and hiking.
