Google Account Notice
Over the last few years, Google has significantly changed its policies and support for higher education email accounts. Because of these changes, @my.wheaton.edu inactive alumni accounts that have not been accessed for two or more years will be scheduled for deletion. Please review the following FAQ for further details.
- Why are inactive alumni accounts being deleted?
- Over the last few years, Google has significantly changed its policies and support for higher education email accounts. Because of these changes, @my.wheaton.edu accounts that are no longer being used will begin to be deleted on October 31, 2026.
- If I would like to keep my alumni account, am I able to?
- To maintain access to your account, please sign in to it at least once a year.
- If I would no longer like to keep my my.wheaton.edu Gmail account and would like it to be deleted, how would I go about requesting that?
- If you no longer need your my.wheaton.edu account and would like us to delete it, please fill out this form or contact AIT at ait.service.desk@wheaton.edu.
- Please be sure to transfer any files, photos, or emails you would like to keep prior to filling out the form.
- How can I transfer my email, photos, and files to another Gmail account?
- If you need to move your data from your my.wheaton account to a personal Google account now, you can learn how to do that here: Google Takeout & Transfer Instructions.
- How can I be sure the Alumni office can get a hold of me so I can be kept informed of the ongoing work the college is doing?
- The Alumni Office has a host of resources and information located at https://alumni.wheaton.edu. The username and password for the Alumni Association is unique to the Alumni Association and not synced to your my.wheaton.edu Google account.
- You can update your information with the Alumni Association by using the Alumni Updates and News page.
- Am I still able to access Alumni-related services such as requesting a transcript, accessing resources for recent grads, signing into Handshake to view jobs, etc.?
- The Registrar’s Office Transcripts and Replacement Diploma Requests, linked here, has information on how to request an unofficial transcript, or how to leverage Parchment to order an official transcript.
- The Center for Vocation and Career has many resources for our Alumni, which can be found here. You can use your personal (non-my.wheaton.edu) email to create a Handshake account.
- The Alumni Office has a host of resources and information located at https://alumni.wheaton.edu. The username and password for the Alumni Association is unique to the Alumni Association and not synced to your my.wheaton.edu Google account.
You will retain your NetID even if your @my.wheaton.edu account is deleted.
As Google continues to make adjustments to their services, AIT will notify Alumni who retain their @my.wheaton.edu email accounts.
