Family Weekend, November 5-6 

Come experience the heart of Wheaton and get to know our amazing student body! You're invited to fill your schedule to the brim or plan a gentle weekend with lots of down time. You decide. 

Should the pandemic impact Family Weekend plans, the College will communicate those changes as quickly as possible. If there are changes to specific events, they will be updated as quickly as possible to this webpage, so please check back regularly. 

All students and guests are required to follow the College's Face Covering Policy throughout Family Weekend.

9:00 am – 3:00 pm Family Weekend Welcome Table
Have a question about the weekend? Stop by the welcome table in the lower level of the Beamer Center to learn more about weekend campus activities.

9:00am - 5:00 pm Admissions Individual Visit 
Calling all rising ninth-twelfth grade siblings! Participate in an official “visit” to Wheaton while waiting for your older sibling to get out of class. Take a campus tour, learn about Wheaton, and attend chapel. Advanced registration required. Email admissions@wheaton.edu with questions.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm Informal Parent Meet and Greet
While your student is in class, grab a coffee at Sam’s and pop into the Fireside Room to meet fellow parents. There is no agenda other than to connect with other parents. Come and meet someone fabulous!

Gather with our students for this time of community worship. After the chapel bells have rung and the students are seated, feel free to take a seat in any unoccupied chair.

Stop by the Center for Vocation and Career to learn about the many resources available to students as they prepare for life after their time at Wheaton College.

1:30 pm – 3:30 pm Calling all Siblings!
Drop into the Great Hall at the Welcome Center for a snack and a gift just for you! Connect with Admissions staff members and learn about Wheaton with other prospective students.

Visit your son's or daughter's room, meet their roommate or hall mate, and chat with their Resident Assistant.
4:45 pm – 6:00 pm Football Chapel
Every Friday before home games, the football team gathers for worship. Everyone is invited to come take part in the service.

5:00 pm College Union Talent Show - Early Performance
Marvel at the talents of Wheaton College students at this event that attracts over 2,000 spectators each year. Early and late performances are identical, and doors open 30 minutes before the show begins. Tickets are required and will be sold online. A purchase link will be available in the coming weeks.

7:30 pm Arena Theater presents "My Name is Asher Lev"
Asher Lev, a gifted young painter and an observant Jew, wrestles with his responsibility to his faith, his community, and his art. In his play based on Potok’s acclaimed novel, Aaron Posner develops and illuminates the necessary and difficult conversation between an individual’s faith and their calling as an artist. Tickets are required.

8:00 pm College Union Talent Show - Late Performance

Join with Wheaton parents to hear a special devotional message from President Ryken and to pray together for students and Wheaton College. Limited seating is available. No RSVP necessary; doors will open at 9:10 a.m. and close when the room is at capacity (360 people).

10:30 am - 11:00 am Story Time at the Wade Center
Come hear an abridged retelling of The Light Princess by Victorian fantasist George MacDonald. At her christening, the light princess is afflicted with constant weightlessness until one day love finally brings her back down to earth for good. MacDonald’s fairy tales are appropriate for children ages 5 to 55, though children under 12 should attend with a caregiver.
The Wade Center is located at the corner of Washington and Lincoln streets, just northwest of Edman Chapel.

11:00 am - 12:00 pm HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development Information Session
Join us and explore opportunities for your student at HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development of Wheaton College. You’ll learn about:
 - Wheaton in the Northwoods – earn four to eight hours of general education credit in two to four weeks
 - Summer Leadership School – develop core leadership competencies and earn academic credit
 - Wheaton College Leadership Certificate – partner with any major to hone leadership skills during your time at Wheaton

1:00 pm  Wheaton College Football vs. Illinois Wesleyan University
Join us for the last regular-season home game. Tickets may be purchased at the gate and cost $7 adult/$5 children 3-18 and senior citizens. Wheaton students, faculty, and staff are free with college I.D.

7:30 pm  Family Weekend Concert with Symphony Orchestra
The Wheaton College Conservatory of Music presents a Family Weekend Concert featuring the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra. Admission is free.
