Students and faculty from the Department of Physics and Engineering are featured in the most recent issue of Wheaton Magazine

Wheaton physics major Rachel Barron ’21 and liberal arts engineering major McKenzie Blank ’21 were interviewed in the article “Liberal Arts and the Lost Learning of Tools” about their leadership in a collaboration with Wheaton archaeology faculty member Dan Master.  Rachel and McKenzie worked with a team of students to pilot LiDAR scans in archaeological digs. In the article, they speak of the interdisciplinary and liberal arts nature of their work.

Associate Professor of Physics Heather M. Whitney was a member of the Academic Technology team that worked to address COVID-19 pivot plans and was interviewed by the magazine in the article “COVID-19: A Faithful Response” about faculty adaptations for remote learning in Spring 2020. She also shared insight into how the Department of Physics and Engineering adapted plans for department events such as Society of Physics Students gatherings, Sigma Pi Sigma Honors Induction, and an honors thesis defense.
