The intentional discipleship I gained from professors has greatly contributed to how I care and love others in the church and in my home. One of the greatest benefits of a small program is how well you get to know your professors. I felt so cared for in all aspects of life by my professors, and learning French with them was just an added bonus. Studying with them has enriched how I disciple high schoolers at my church and care for the athletes I coach at the College. And I obviously encourage all of them to study a language in college and study abroad!
French is just one of many things I learned from my French professors! They taught me how to be culturally competent and adaptable in any context. They taught me grace and patience in the arduous process of language learning. Most importantly, they taught me to have an appreciation, curiosity, and respect for every culture of the world, not just French speaking cultures.
