BESO Chapter at Wheaton College
The Wheaton College chapter of the Bilingual Education Student Organization is open to any students interested in bilingual/bicultural and ESL education, and/or the support and development of bilingual children, their families, and communities
The general purpose of the Bilingual/ESL Education Student Organization (BESO) is:
- To provide an effective organization that promotes the preparation of ESL and bilingual/bicultural Educators
- To facilitate the sharing of information and resources between students and faculty interested or enrolled in ESL and bilingual/bicultural education at Wheaton College
- To publicize ESL and bilingual/bicultural education, particularly emphasizing the nature and need for such education
- To provide a means of uniting the ESL and bilingual education students for the purpose of enhancing professional and social growth
- To help promote recruitment of others into the ESL and Bilingual Education Endorsements at Wheaton College
- To network with the Illinois Association for Multilingual Multicultural Education (IAMME) and the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE).
