BESO Chapter at Wheaton College

The Wheaton College chapter of the Bilingual Education Student Organization is open to any students interested in bilingual/bicultural and ESL education, and/or the support and development of bilingual children, their families, and communities

The general purpose of the Bilingual/ESL Education Student Organization (BESO) is: 

  1. To provide an effective organization that promotes the preparation of ESL and bilingual/bicultural Educators
  2. To facilitate the sharing of information and resources between students and faculty interested or enrolled in ESL and bilingual/bicultural education at Wheaton College 
  3. To publicize ESL and bilingual/bicultural education, particularly emphasizing the nature and need for such education
  4. To provide a means of uniting the ESL and bilingual education students for the purpose of enhancing professional and social growth
  5. To help promote recruitment of others into the ESL and Bilingual Education Endorsements at Wheaton College
  6. To network with the Illinois Association for Multilingual Multicultural Education (IAMME) and the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE).
