Promoting and encouraging the formation of moral character and the application of biblical ethics to contemporary moral decisions, the Center for Applied Christian Ethics serves Wheaton faculty and students through a portfolio of activities, including ethical training, public forums, and projects.

Humanitarian Disaster Institute (HDI)

The Humanitarian Disaster Institute is the first faith-based academic disaster research center in the country. Our mission is to help the church prepare and care for a disaster-filled world. We use our research to create resources and events geared toward students, survivors, helpers, and researchers.


Institute for Cross-Cultural Training (ICCT)

Through on-campus and online courses, special workshops, publications and consulting, ICCT focuses on these three key areas:

  • Skills for learning a new language
  • Practical help for those who work with on-field language and culture learners
  • Preparation for teaching English to speakers of other languages

The Nelson Center champions the creation of new sacred choral music that is based on biblical text, commissioning new works, producing concerts, offering educational and performance opportunities for students, and other activities on the Wheaton College campus and around the world.

Sexual and Gender Identity Institute

Through research, training, and consultation, the Sexual and Gender Identity Institute works to further understanding of sexual and gender identity from within a Christian worldview, to explore the intersection of these identities with religious identity, and to be a resource to the church and to the broader culture.
