Full-time employees of Wheaton College receive an impressive benefits package. This package includes the following:
All employees (with the exception of Wheaton College Student Employees) are eligible to participate immediately upon date of hire with tax deferred or Roth employee contributions to the plan record kept by TIAA. After one year of employment, and attainment of 21 years of age, employees who have worked a minimum of 1,000 hours in a 12 month measurement period will qualify to receive the institutional matching contribution. Specifically, the College will match an employee’s contribution of up to 4% of an employee’s salary at a 2:1 rate with a maximum College contribution of 8%. The waiting period for the employer match may be waived for prior full-time service with an employer that qualifies as a higher education institution or a Code Section 501(c)3 institution.
Effective the first day of employment, all full-time employees are eligible for medical coverage under a PPO or HMO plan through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois.
Effective the first day of employment, all full-time employees are eligible for dental insurance under a PPO plan through Delta Dental. The annual maximum benefit is $1,000 per covered individual, and orthodontia coverage is included for dependent children under age 19 with $1,000 lifetime maximum. Additionally, vision insurance is available through DeltaVision.
Effective the first day of employment, employees are eligible to enroll in Medical and Dependent Care accounts. These accounts allow employees to pay eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses with pre-tax payroll deductions.
Effective the first day of employment, the College pays the entire cost of basic, term life insurance for full-time employees. The amount of this insurance is 1.5 times annual base salary. Additional supplemental coverage of up to 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 times salary is available for employees who wish to pay the age-based premium.
Wheaton College provides short-term and long-term disability coverage at 60% of salary after one year of full-time employment. The waiting period for long-term disability may be waived with evidence of previous long-term disability coverage within the last 90 days.
This benefit provides employees and their spouses up to 4 credit hours of tuition per semester at Wheaton College. A percentage of tuition payment is also available for employees' children after four years of employment. This tuition benefit can be used at Wheaton College or any other school in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities that is designated a governing member and is in the United States. Full-time experience at another institution of higher learning may be transferable towards the years of service requirement for the Educational Benefit.

Vacation time for staff employees is based upon years of service, work schedule, and level of responsibility.
Full-time staff and faculty who are at least 2/3 load are eligible for paid sick leave for an illness or injury.
