Not only do we know God through Jesus Christ we only know ourselves through Jesus Christ.
Pascal is shown standing in his study, surrounded by the expressions of his intellect. Mathematician, physicist, and engineer, Pascal invented numerous scientific tools, including the barometer and the mechanical calculator. His mind also probed the depths of man's search for God. At his death, a short account of his conversion in 1654 was found sewn inside his cloak. He spent a great deal of time, following his conversion, working on a defense of the Christian faith. The volume was never finished, but his notes, the Pensees, were published after his death, and their call for a deep, experiential faith in Christ remain a classic in Christian theology.
