Timothy McDunn

Timothy W. McDunn (b. 1994) is a composer and theorist with a distinguished international profile. He specializes in just intonation and electroacoustic composition. His music and research are regularly presented and performed at major peer-reviewed conferences and festivals, including NYCEMF, SEAMUS, SCI National Conference, Convergence, MOXSonic, ChimeFest, NSEME, and others. His background in classical languages and literature strongly influences his work as a composer.

Mr. McDunn holds a terminal degree in composition from the Verdi Conservatory of Milan, where he studied with eminent composers from the Donatoni school, including Mº Mario Garuti. He is finishing a DMA in composition at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, where he has received the Dissertation Completion Fellowship (2023 - 2024), a prestigious merit-based award to provide financial support for the timely completion of the dissertation project. His music is inspired by elements of faith, philosophy, and spirituality.
