Biography
Lisa began her career in education as a third-grade teacher in Woodridge, IL, at Goodrich Elementary School, where she taught for seven years. After teaching reading and mathematics intervention, she served as the Director of Literacy for Wheaton-Warrenville Community Unit School 200 for three years. Over the last decade, Lisa has worked with school districts nationwide as an educational consultant to improve teacher efficacy and increase student achievement. This has included providing professional development training, facilitating teacher workshops, conducting instructional coaching services, and creating educational webinars, videos, and curriculum resources.
Most recently, she has served at Wheaton College as an adjunct professor and student teacher supervisor. Lisa has taught Education 101: The Teaching Profession and Reading Theories & Methodologies for Elementary and Middle Schools. Her current role at Wheaton College is as the Placement Coordinator, securing the most appropriate placements for student field experiences. Through building strong, positive community partnerships with the surrounding public and private schools, Lisa provides practicum and student teaching opportunities that support individual growth and goals for aspiring teachers!
Lisa is married to Tim, an elementary principal. They have a busy family life while loving and supporting six children and Lisa’s father. She enjoys cooking, participating in bootcamp classes, crafting, and spending time outdoors.
