Wheaton BiTH students on archaeological dig

In Wheaton’s Biblical and Theological Studies Department, you’ll find exciting ways to put your learning into practice. Join professors on an archaeological dig, explore global faith perspectives through study abroad, and connect with friends at department gatherings and social events. You can deepen your academic journey through our Theta Alpha Kappa Honors Society and the The Wheaton Center for Early Christian Studies—where students and faculty dig deeper (literally and figuratively!) into Scripture and history together.

Social Events

Students, faculty, and staff hang out together regularly for meals, parties, and opportunities for learning outside the classroom together.

Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society

Theta Alpha Kappa is a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence in baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate students and in scholars in the fields of Religious Studies & Theology. Students who have completed three semesters and who have earned a 3.5 GPA in Biblical Studies and/or Theology and a 3.0 GPA overall are welcome to join.

Study Abroad: Wheaton in the Holy Lands

Wheaton in the Holy Lands has historically studied New Testament, Christian theology and historical geography through on-site lecture/instruction in Israel, Greece, and Rome. Students engage with issues of the theological development of the Church through the centuries, its historic faith expressions, and dialogue with other faith traditions. The program offers students the experience of a lifetime, exploring the Holy Lands under the guidance and instruction of Wheaton professors and local experts.
