Stephen CartwrightStephen Cartwright

Fischer Hall

Trinity International University
B.A., Business Management, 2013
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
M.Div., 2017

Stephen Cartwright began his first year as an RD in Fischer Hall in the fall of 2017. He served in Residence Life throughout much of college and seminary, and values the unique opportunities it presents to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ through encouragement, challenge and development of one another. When not in Fischer, he can likely be found preaching, playing basketball, reading, having insightful conversations, or laughing at random nonsense. Stephen majored in Business Management at Trinity International University, and just before graduating with his bachelors, he decided to pursue a Master of Divinity from Trinity. He loved working with undergraduates as a GRA and is excited to continue doing so in Fischer as an RD! His prayer is that Fischer will be a place that edifies students and staff and glorifies the Risen Christ! A place where the love of Christ is reflected by the ways in which we live out the Good News! A place where individuals feel seen, heard, known and valued and are compelled to help others feel the same.

Kat Haase

Smith-Traber Residence Hall

Wheaton College
B.A., Communications, 1986
Wheaton Graduate School
M.A., Educational Ministries, 1996

Kat Haase grew up attending Wheaton College’s Northwood’s campus, HoneyRock, and it was because of the incredible Wheaton students who counseled and instructed her in those early years that she found herself irresistibly drawn to attending Wheaton herself.  These young college leaders showed her how to spend time with God in the early morning hours and to love the woods and beauty of God’s creation. They so impressed upon her their love for God and life that she ended up dedicating her life’s work to pouring into this strategic age group. One of Kat’s passions for students is for them to behold God and to cling to Him more than anything else in this world.
Kat and her husband Dan live with their two boys, Christopher and Benjamin and their long haired Dachshund, Bunny, the dorm mascot. They are experts at all things Smith-Traber and have a long list of heroic and not-so-heroic stories recounting the exploits of 18-20 years old college students recently set free from the oversight of their parents.  Kat is a delighter in coffee, the great outdoors, anything theological or philosophical, a good embarrassing moment that can be recounted with horror to the delight of a late-night group of friends and the absolute beauty of watching college friendships form.

Asbury College
B.A., Christian Ministry and Missions, 2003
Wheaton Graduate School
M.A., Intercultural Studies, 2005
Fuller Theological Seminary
M.Div., in progress

Kristy loves the way the college years are so formational to form, shift and deepen a person’s trajectory toward loving God and loving others which is tangibly lived out in the living rooms and hallways of residence life.  Along with this role, she is also a student herself, pursuing an MDiv through Fuller Seminary in California.  After growing up in the Philippines and Colorado, she attended Asbury College in Kentucky, studying Biology and Christian Ministry, and Wheaton College where she received an MA in Intercultural Studies.  She loves drinking good coffee on her porch with students (and her dog, Sadie), serving Eucharist at Church of the Resurrection, being an aunt to Silas and Auggie, good books and conversation, oh and she can’t pass up a good deal at a garage sale.
