On Staff since 2014
I have been on staff at HoneyRock since 2014 and currently serve as the Facilities Manager. My primary responsibilities include: maintaining our buildings, managing construction projects, and overseeing our Service Team summer program as well as Guest Services. Most recently, I’ve had the opportunity to teach graduate-level classes as an adjunct professor at HoneyRock.
Before coming on staff at HoneyRock, I spent over twenty years in the construction industry with experiences that ranged from custom home building to large scale commercial projects in Chicago. I first became a carpenter while attending seminary in preparation to become a pastor. For most of my adult life construction and pastoring have been interwoven. After finishing seminary, I planted and pastored a church for six years in Downers Grove, IL. During this time, I married my wife, Heidi, in 2001. We have four rapidly growing children.
Working at HoneyRock has proved to be an ideal place for the converging of my two passions and backgrounds: construction and ministry. I truly love what I do because of the unique place that HoneyRock is: a place where I get to blend teaching and mentoring students, managing projects, and developing future Christian leaders. I continue to enjoy working with my hands, but working with people and seeing them grow and develop is what truly excites me the most.
