Classes nurture your child’s growing independence and love imaginative play, and the natural world. Activities include singing, patterning, focused listening, creative and dramatic play as well as exploration of musical instruments and simple ensembles. This curriculum is designed to build expressive and attentive skills.
Activities Year One of this 2-year sequential program use the habitats of nature, instruments and self-expression to establish a solid musical foundation. Your child will create ensembles and be introduced to instruments of the orchestra. Symbolic music language is introduced.
Parent/caregiver attends last 15 minutes of class.
Year two of this sequential program explores music from countries around the world. Songs, dances, stories, rituals and customs from these cultures will give your child a deeper global understanding. Music literacy is strengthened through ensemble building and focus on written (symbolic) musical language-- melodic, rhythmic and harmonic.
Parent/caregiver attends last 15 minutes of class.
Take the next step with your friends into YM4 (Young Musicians 4). Graduates of Music Makers at the Keyboard Level 3 will meet weekly to further expand their musical experiences. Pre-requisite is Music Makers at the Keyboard Level 3 or demonstrated level or reading skill.
