Choral and Orchestral Reunion Concert Weekend
June 19-20, 2026
Along with Conservatory faculty, Dean Michael Wilder invites all Wheaton alumni who have been part of instrumental or choral music at Wheaton to participate in an Alumni & Friends Weekend of choral and orchestral music-making: Friday, June 19 – Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Wheaton’s own choral conductor, Dr. Annika Stucky anticipates welcoming former choral conductors, Dr. Mary Hopper, Dr. Jerry Blackstone, Dr. Gerard Sundberg, and Dr. Paul Wiens back to Wheaton College to join her in directing an alumni and friends choir. Dr. Benjamin Klemme, current conductor of the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra, with the involvement of former WCSO conductor Dr. Daniel Sommerville, will engage instrumentalists in a similar way throughout this two-day rehearsal & performance experience. Following several rehearsals and a reunion lunch for all, this Alumni & Friends Choir and Orchestra will perform a program of pieces culminating in a joint performance of “And Can It Be” by well-known composer Dan Forrest.
This weekend coincides with the Wheaton College Summer Music Camp which welcomes High School musicians for a two-week, residential program meant to provide excellent music training within the context of faith and community as they explore Wheaton College, and consider music opportunities here. Students attending the camp will participate alongside alumni and friends from our local community in this project.
