Individual Therapy

There are many seasons and stages to life. While some are wonderful and full of hope, others are painful and devastating.

We are not meant to navigate this world alone. In fact, research indicates that the presence of another person can reduce our experience of pain.

When we are going through a difficult season and life becomes overwhelming, it may be time to consider individual therapy. Your therapist can provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment to begin the process of healing wounds and finding a way forward.

At the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic (The MFT Clinic), therapists help individuals at all stages of life. We address a wide range of problems and challenges, including reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, healing from wounds of trauma and abuse, conflict resolution, loneliness, relationship issues and many more. Our goal is to help you move forward in your life with more wholeness and purpose.

What can I expect from individual therapy?

First, you can expect your therapist to provide a safe place for you to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. An important goal of therapy is to provide a space for you to be seen, heard, and understood.

Next, your therapist will help you create a goal for your therapy that will guide your work together. As you work toward your goal, your therapist will explore areas in your life where you may feel stuck and overwhelmed so that you can gain new insight into yourself and your relationships. Therapy is a place to explore emotions, learn new coping skills, and gain confidence in your relationships.

What type of individual therapy will work for me?

We recognize that everyone is unique, and therefore, our clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic theories and evidence-based interventions.

Methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, trauma-informed therapy, faith-integrated therapy, psychodynamic approaches and many more.
