Passport to Wheaton

Passport to Wheaton is a part of orientation that is specifically designed for undergraduate international F-1 visa/MK/TCK students. During Passport to Wheaton, you will learn what it is like to be an international student at Wheaton, tips on making a smooth transition to the Chicago area, what services on campus can be a help to you, and you can meet our International Student Leaders as well as other new international students.

International Student (F-1/MK/TCK) Move In: 2:00-5:00 pm
Various Residential Halls around Campus

Cross Cultural Chill Out: 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Keul Patio, South Entrance, Beamer Student Center
Join current and new international students for snacks, conversations and outdoor games!

Passport to Wheaton Workshop: 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon
Coray Gym, Beamer Student Center
Join the International Student Programs (ISP) team for breakfast and to learn about opportunities and resources available for F-1 Visa/MK/TCK students throughout their time at Wheaton. Come and get to know other new international students and meet your Ladder Leader! Parents are invited and we will have an information session for you with time for your questions. Breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m.
Resource Run: 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The ISP student leaders will bring groups of students to:
- tour and shop Corinthian Co-op for free gently used items for your residence hall room and clothing.
- take a van to Target - a local store where you can shop for school/ residential hall room supplies.
- assist students with setting up a bank account at a local bank near campus if needed.

Insider's Tour of Downtown Wheaton: 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Meet in the ISP, Lower Beamer 061
Join current international students on a walking tour of downtown Wheaton who will show you their favorite shops and other areas of interest within walking distance of campus. We will also stop for a treat at Mariano’s grocery store at the end.

International (F-1 Visa) Student Orientation Day: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Phelps Room, Beamer Center, lower level
New F-1 Visa students must attend this mandatory orientation to learn how to maintain their F-1 visa status while studying in the U.S. The program will include breakfast from 9:00-9:30 am, and a lunch with international faculty, staff and current F-1 students to support your transition to the campus community. Please bring your I-20 document, passport and laptop or mobile phone.
