Wilderness Trip

Every camper will participate in a wilderness overnight trip, with opportunities to play and explore the nearly 1,000 acres of natural beauty owned by HoneyRock, under the guidance of their trained leaders. Campers will get to hike or canoe to one of our many campsites, while learning wilderness skills and bonding with their cabin. The length of each trip varies by grade and camper program.

With 14 activity areas, it’s tough to be bored! From drama to waterskiing and archery to crafts, we offer a diverse range of activities to cater to campers with varied interests.

While Intro Campers get to experience most, if not all, areas, Residential and High School Campers have the option to begin working towards their Basic, Intermediate, and Master’s in any of our 14 activity areas. This progression involves technical skills in the activity, service to the area, and instruction of other fellow campers. Our activity areas are one of our most powerful tools for developing character and leadership in campers.

Friendship begins with shared experiences. As campers learn new skills in activity areas, explore God’s creation through wilderness trips, and talk around campfires, they begin life-long friendships. From silly fun to deep conversations, this is a place to find like-hearted peers and mentors.

Leadership Development

At the earliest age, campers learn how to take responsibility for themselves and navigate life away from home. As progress through our summer camp programs, they’re given age-appropriate levels of challenge to stretch them into resilient, strong, and kind leaders wherever the Lord leads them.

Truth-Infused Living

Our forward-thinking and enduring model integrates instructional activities, service opportunities, leadership development, wilderness trips, and a spiritual focus so that campers can have meaningful experiences, align them with God’s truth, and reflect on the meaning for their life.
