Biography
I spent the first six years of my life in Ethiopia, where my Parents were missionaries before my dad began working for the United Nations. Our family eventually settled in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where I grew up and then attended Bethel University, earning degrees in Science Education and Physics.
After college, I taught high school Physics, Physical Science, and Earth Science in the Twin Cities metro area for six years. During that time, I discovered a deep passion for outdoor adventure. I spent my summers working with organizations that encouraged people to encounter nature and community through outdoor activities and experiences. I also developed a love for discipleship through my church, which inspired me to pursue a master’s degree at HoneyRock, where I could combine my passions for wilderness experiences and spiritual formation in community.
Now, as the Outdoor and Adventure Programs Manager, I have the privilege of leading wilderness and activities programs that challenge and grow students into Christ-centered (disciple-making) leaders. I work alongside graduate students, college students, summer staff, and campers, helping them engage in the power of creation, community, and discipleship in the outdoor context
