Marriage and Family Therapy M.A. Learning Outcomes

As a result of completing the Marriage and Family Therapy M.A. program at Wheaton College, students will achieve the following learning outcomes:

  1. Students and graduates will demonstrate knowledge of systemic approaches.
  2. Students and graduates will demonstrate knowledge of the AAMFT Code of Ethics.
  3. Students and Graduates will demonstrate the ability to evaluate and apply research.
  4. Students will demonstrate ethical treatment of clients and client systems.
  5. Students will demonstrate sensitivity and respect regarding diversity to those on the margins.
  6. Students will demonstrate ability to intervene systemically with client populations.
  7. Students will demonstrate emotional and relational maturity with peers and authorities and will be capable of exploring how personal upbringing affects present functioning.
  8. Students will demonstrate professionalism in interactions with peers, clients, and faculty in clinical settings.
  9. Students will integrate biblical/theological knowledge and professional ethics with systemic theory.
