Dr. Junias Venugopal is a higher education administrator with experience serving as a provost for a decade and as a dean since 2000. Prior to coming to Wheaton, he served as Provost and Dean of Education at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Earlier he served at Columbia International University, Columbia, SC as the Dean of the university's Seminary & School of Missions for seven years, also serving as Vice President of Educational Affairs for his last two years at Columbia.

Dr. Venugopal and his wife, Beth, have been active in Intercultural ministry, serving with their family in India and the Philippines. In India, Junias was a pastor at Delhi Bible Fellowship, New Delhi for over eight years, where he pastored the Central Delhi Congregation and coordinated Youth and Children’s ministry for the English congregations. In the six years his family served in the Philippines, he taught Leadership courses at a number of evangelical seminaries and researched church planting teams. During his last three years there, he served as the Dean of the Asia Graduate School of Theology (AGST).  

Dr. Venugopal was born in Chennai, India and grew up in New Delhi before coming to the U.S. in the mid 1970s. His passion is to be a catalyst in the lives of others, helping them to achieve their God-given potential. He and Beth married in 1978 and have four adult children and five grandchildren.
