Classical Languages Faculty
Our four faculty are engaged in the full breadth of scholarship on the literary and historical qualities of the Classical Languages—in addition to teaching language acquisition courses. From Aesop to Plato’s apology of Socrates, Ovid to Paul’s Letters to Timothy and Titus, the topics of our Classical Language courses are sure to make ancient Greek, Latin, and Hebrew come alive in new and unexpected ways. Read more about these courses here.

Take the Next Step
"Achieving proficiency in a new language, though difficult, will always produce a feeling of satisfaction. That feeling is magnified when it comes to the study of biblical languages, which opens the door to a unique kind of intimacy with scripture. Studying classical languages at Wheaton has given me that opportunity. This is in large part due to the caring and patient guidance of professors who are truly experts in their field and understand the value both of mastering the content and of the development of disciplined precision necessary to do so." - David Bradley '21
