Description:
Through art, we see ourselves (and others) and are able to communicate sorrows and victories that words cannot easily express. And, for many, art provides a way for us to connect with our Heavenly Creator, who can bring healing, restoration, and even beauty out of brokenness. These themes will be explored during the upcoming free event titled Kintsugi: Renewal Through the Arts. Co-hosted by Wheaton College’s Center for Applied Christian Ethics (CACE) and Kintsugi Dance Collective—a Christian dance group founded by Wheaton alumnae—the event will highlight and feature various art forms. Performers include Kintsugi Dance Collective, the Wheaton College Gospel Choir, and Wheaton alumni. The evening will also include reflections by Dr. Donte Ford, Dr. Jennifer McNutt, Professor Mark Lewis, Dr. Jeffrey Galbraith, and Wheaton College Gospel Choir Director, Tanya Egler.
The event will be held from 7:30–9:00 p.m. with a brief intermission. Light refreshments will follow. Doors will open at 7:15 p.m.
