Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policies

Wheaton College’s undergraduate transfer credit policy explains how courses completed at other institutions may apply toward Wheaton degree requirements, including Christ at the Core general education requirements, major requirements, and elective credit.

Wheaton College’s undergraduate transfer credit policies are designed to serve five purposes:

  • to recognize and honor the academic work students have completed before arriving at Wheaton College;
  • to provide fair articulations and processes for students;
  • to ensure that the education students receive at Wheaton College reflects its mission and curricular standards;
  • to guide the transfer of credits by students post-matriculation; and
  • to make Wheaton a welcoming and accessible institution for well-prepared transfer students.

Students with questions about transfer credit should consult the Academic Advising Office or the Office of the Registrar. These offices can help students understand how prior coursework may apply to Wheaton requirements and what documentation may be needed for review.
