NAfME Chapter Organization

The Wheaton College chapter of the National Association for Music Education serves as the official student organization of the Conservatory of Music.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) is an organization of American music educators dedicated to advancing and preserving music education as part of the core curriculum of schools in the United States. NAfME is among the world’s largest arts education organizations and it is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education and teaching. NAfME advocates at the local, state, and national levels; provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators; hosts professional development events; and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers. The Association orchestrates success for millions of students nationwide and has supported music teachers at all teaching levels for more than a century.

NAfME Collegiate Chapter at Wheaton College

The Wheaton College NAfME chapter is open to all Wheaton students who are interested in growing in music education and teaching. As individual members of the NAfME collegiate chapter, the participants will have the opportunity to develop their teaching skills and understanding of the music teaching profession. Furthermore, participants will benefit through networking, advocacy, and professional development resources. Collectively, the Wheaton College NAfME chapter meets several times a semester to learn from and interact with leaders in private, public, and collegiate music education, private music teachers, musicians, school administrators, and Wheaton College Conservatory alumni
