About Paul Zafer
Paul Zafer, currently serves as Concertmaster of the Chicago Sinfonietta. He has performed in this capacity with Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Lincoln Symphony of Nebraska, Lion King National Tour, Elgin Symphony and the Illinois Philharmonic.
Mr. Zafer is a member of the Lake Forest Symphony, Chicago Philharmonic and the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra in Wisconsin. Additionally, he is on faculty at Wheaton College and Camp Musical des Laurentides in Quebec, Canada. He has coached at DePaul University, North Park University, CCPA-Roosevelt University, Stanford University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Missouri–St. Louis, Royal Conservatory of Toronto and the University of Toronto.
A native Canadian, Mr. Zafer made his solo debut with the Calgary Philharmonic at age 14. He also has appeared as featured soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and the Chicago Sinfonietta. He has performed with the English Chamber Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, Music of the Baroque, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Opera, and the National Ballet of Canada.
Mr. Zafer earned an Artist Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Music degree from Northern Illinois University. He and his wife Betty Lewis reside in Wilmette, Illinois.
