March 2018

Philip Ryken, President of Wheaton College, Wheaton, ILFrom the President

 Dear Parents,

Spring Break at Wheaton provides a respite from the classroom and studies while many students travel to warmer climates for recreation, or to exciting ministry assignments both in the U.S. and abroad.

My travels will include time with alumni and friends of Wheaton in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.  In each city I will share how God has provided funds through his people for Wheaton’s From the Heart, For the Kingdom $175M campaign.  We are within $10M of reaching our goal, and already the generous giving of many is at work:

  • A new campus front door in the Welcome Center where the Admissions staff works with newly appointed Chief Enrollment Management Officer, Mr. Silvio Vazquez;
  • Over $20M in new scholarship funding for students from many backgrounds;
  • A new general education curriculum, Christ at the Core, with an inter-disciplinary and outcomes-based framework;
  • Expanded global engagement opportunities and partnerships with Christ-centered international universities;
  • A much-improved Center for Vocation and Career, including career coaches embedded within academic departments and a four-year plan to prepare every Wheaton graduate for calling and career.

Your student is benefitting from the advances we have made, thanks to the generosity of large and small gifts from people who partner with us for Christ’s kingdom through Wheaton College.

In Christ’s service,

Philip G. Ryken
