March 2017

From the President

Philip Ryken, President of Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL

Dear Parents,

This week nearly 180 Wheaton students with 22 professors, coaches and staff mentors have traveled to 13 different sites in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America and Africa to spend their Spring Break serving others through ministry projects.

From San Francisco to Wichita, Appalachia to Honduras, Cuba to South Africa, students spent time with the homeless, shadowed medical doctors on call, befriended people living in poverty, installed a water system in a Central American rural village, and assisted local missionaries.  They poured their lives into others, and will return to campus next week energized and with new understanding of the world.

This week Lisa and I traveled to Florida to cheer on a few of our student athletic teams, including men’s and women’s tennis, softball, and baseball.  Our Spring Break week will conclude with meeting local alumni and friends of the College before returning to campus for the final stretch to Commencement.

In Christ’s service,

Philip Ryken
