From the President
Seniors graduating in December were recognized in our last Chapel today before the mid-winter break. Their presence was a visual reminder for the entire student body that the time of study will one day come to an end, and then life will open up to new pursuits, whether to jobs, further education, or even marriage.
Last weekend, student musicians from Wheaton’s choirs and Symphonic Band opened the Advent and Christmas season with beautiful music that celebrated God’s inexpressible gift of love in His Son, Jesus Christ. During Advent 2016, the global Wheaton College community has been invited to reflect on the gift of Love Divine.
In one devotional, student chaplain Kate Fredricksen ’17 reflects that with Jesus’ coming, “We are not alone. We do not have to bear all things or endure all things on our own. The love of the true Love Divine will carry us through.” May Christ’s loving presence fill you with truth and hope for 2017.
Merry Christmas from Wheaton College!
Celebrate this Advent Season with Wheaton
Join the Wheaton College community as we celebrate the coming of Christ this Advent Season through an online devotional. Each reading offers thoughts from President Ryken on Love Divine, a prayer by a member of the Wheaton family, and music composed or arranged by a Wheaton alumna.
This month, as we reflect on God’s divine love given to us in the person of Jesus Christ, we are also reminded of your love for Wheaton College. When you support the Wheaton Fund, you invest in the affordability and excellence of a Wheaton education for each of today’s students. Your tax-deductible gift to the Wheaton Fund by December 31, 2016 is essential to our mission and truly appreciated. Thank you for remembering Wheaton College in your year-end giving!
News from the Bookstore
Looking for a student stocking-stuffer? A Wheaton Bookstore gift card is sure to be appreciated. Gift cards can be used for all items carried in the Bookstore and in the Convenience Store - textbooks, gift items, music, general books, classroom supplies, and food.
The Bookstore buys back textbooks from students at the end of each semester. Students can opt for cash OR receive 10% more by placing their refund on a gift card for store credit. Gift cards can be applied to Spring EasyBooks online purchases or toward the purchase of any item in our store. This semester's BuyBack dates are December 12-16. As a reminder, if your student rented textbooks, they will need to be returned to the Bookstore by Friday, December 16.
The Bookstore's EasyBooks ordering system makes ordering textbooks and classroom supplies easy. Students can find the textbooks required for each course, and purchase or rent via the EasyBooks site. Orders will be ready when students return to campus in January. Be sure to order early for the greatest selection and savings.
Introducing Student Financial Services!
The Financial Aid and Student Account offices have joined forces to become Student Financial Services. Our new office serves all aspects of student finances including scholarships, aid, billing, and payments.
The 2017-18 FAFSA is now available. It utilizes 2015 income tax information, which is intended to streamline the process for many students and their families. The 2017-18 Wheaton institutional financial aid application is also available. There are links to both on our website. The priority deadline is March 15, 2017 for continuing students. We highly encourage students from Illinois to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible, since the Illinois MAP Grant is awarded based on the FAFSA filing date and has shortfalls in funding each year.
Important Spring Semester Billing and Payment Update
Spring bills will be available for viewing through the Billing and Payment Gateway by mid-December and tuition will be due on January 11, 2017. All students and authorized users will receive an email notification when bills are finalized.
If you will be using 529/College Savings funds, please direct your plan administrator to remit payment by the due date to avoid possible late fees.
Spring Semester Payment Plans
Wheaton College offers convenient, interest-free payment plans to help you budget your college expenses. Enrollment is now open.
