Dear New Parents,
On behalf of the Parent Engagement team, welcome to Wheaton College! We are thrilled to welcome you to the Wheaton family. Below is information about Passage: The Orientation Program of Wheaton College.
Passage Arrival and Departure Dates
You are invited to accompany your student to the on-campus portion of Wheaton Passage which begins when your student moves in on August 3 or August 10, depending on which Passage site they are registered for. All transfer students participating in an off-site Passage experience will arrive on August 14.
Parents/guardians should plan to head home after the 1 p.m. Closing Parent Program on August 4 or August 11, or after the Transfer Passage student/parent dinner on August 14. Parents are asked not to return to campus when students return from their off-campus Passage sites as students will be busy with additional Orientation activities and there will be no parent programming.
Passage App Available Now
The Wheaton College Passage 2022 App has officially launched via the Apple Store and Google. The app contains the most up-to-date information about Orientation so downloading it (no need to create a login) is the best way to stay informed. Once you have access to the app, I encourage you to spend some time reviewing it because the app contains information that will help you and your student navigate Passage. Please note: schedules in the app will localize to the time zone your phone is in and not local Wheaton time, unless you are in the Central Time Zone.
As you review the Orientation Schedule on the app or on the website, pay special attention to the on-campus events where parents are welcome.
If you don’t have a mobile phone or tablet, helpful information can be also found on the Parent website and Passage Orientation website. On these sites you will find Passage Orientation FAQs, contact information for offices across campus, and an Academic Calendar.
Wheaton College Post Office (CPO) Information
Students should plan to bring what they need for their initial move-in and their off-site Passage experience. If your student needs additional items before the start of school, please make sure all packages are shipped so they arrive after August 15 as CPO is not able to hold packages that arrive before that date. Students will be able to pick up their shipped items from CPO after they return from Passage on Friday, August 19. For questions or concerns about mailing packages, please send an email to CPO@wheaton.edu.
