Shakespeare in the Park Returns to Wheaton August 24–26

Wheaton College Arena Theater students and alumni will perform “Twelfth Night” beneath the Memorial Park Bandshell in downtown Wheaton

Wheaton community enjoys Shakespeare in the Park at Memorial Park BandshellEach evening’s performance of the classic romantic comedy will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Preceding each main production, actors will present a puppet show at 6:45 p.m. to help introduce audiences young and old to the play’s characters and plot line.

Twelfth Night is the ninth Shakespearean play performed since Wheaton College and the Wheaton Parks District first began the partnership in 2012. The play’s main storyline makes ample use of comic metatheatre and follows the cacophony of events that unfold after a twin brother and sister are separated in a shipwreck.
