The Center for Vocation and Career is here to walk alongside every student during their journey of vocational discovery and planning for life beyond Wheaton.
Learn how to develop self-awareness, explore possible careers, prepare to reach your goals, and land in a place that aligns with your interests, skills, and values.
Self-awareness is key when thinking about the future. Examining your vocations, interests, competencies, skills, and values sets you up for meaningful work. Check out the Know Yourself tools in the navigation bar to discover how the CVC can help you find out who you are and how God has wired you.
Exploration is the primary means for discovering what you will actually enjoy doing, rather than what you think you will enjoy doing. The CVC provides tons of ways for you to learn about careers and industries through our exploration events like Canvas, Taco Tuesdays, Externship Day, and Networking Night.
Assembling all the tools you need to tell your story to prospective employers and graduate schools is a process, and the CVC is here to help. We've created our very own Resume Guide and Cover Letter Guide, and we have writing consultants provide digital document review through Handshake. We also provide interview guidance through customized question sets on Big Interview and practice interviews with recruiters ar our Mock Interview Workshop.
Once you have leaned into each layer of the blueprint effectively, you are best positioned to land in a role that aligns with your interests, skills, competencies, and values. Our coaches can help you analyze job offers, evaluate grad school options, and manuever negotiation conversations.
Life looks different for us as Christians—as it should! Our faith is the very foundation of our lives, and understanding and believing that we have a divine purpose will impact how we pursue our vocations.
