About Maggie

I was born and raised in Siloam Springs, AR and I have a deep love of the South. My parents, Martin and Lanna, taught me how to work hard and make great sweet tea. I have a younger brother, Riley, and a younger sister, Alice. We enjoy bluegrass in the park and celebrating made-up holidays.

Though I grew up in the Bible belt of America, it was not until my first summer of camp that I was confronted with the reality that I was willing to have Jesus Christ as my Savior but not as my Lord. I knew something needed to change and by the end of the week I submitted my life to Christ. Summer camp became a sanctuary for me. I entered the leadership development program where I learned about service, personal responsibility, and the Body of Christ. When it came time to decide on a major in college, I chose outdoor leadership ministries, Ultimately, I desire to bring glory to God by using camping ministry to equip high school students with knowledge, experiences, and skills that will mold them into the next generation of Christian leaders.

I am excited to work at HoneyRock because I get to practice integrating work, school, and play in a way that challenges me to grow. So many people get burnt out on ministry within the first two years because they cannot find a balance. My hope is that living, working, and learning in the same environment will set me up for success when it comes to juggling life after HoneyRock.
