About Breann

I was born and raised in the small town of Rome, Georgia located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains where I lived within a 2 mile radius of most of my family. My mom and dad, Sandra and Anthony, instilled a strong sense of adventure, fun and southern hospitality in our family. I have an older sister, Brittany and a brother-in-law, Daniel, who also live in Georgia and love the outdoors. When I was fifteen I discovered the unfailing love of Christ when I was invited to youth group by a friend. I am passionate about youth ministry because of the way it impacted and changed my life as a high school student and I love working with teenagers. Since I came to know Christ as a teenager I have pursued the adventure that He has for me, expecting to experience His goodness and share His love.

I attended Young Harris College where I studied Outdoor Leadership and minored in Appalachian Studies and Community Engagement. It was at Young Harris where I discovered my love for the outdoors and fell in love with experiential education and intentional community. I spent my summers in college as an orientation leader, camp counselor at Birchwood Camp in Chugiak, Alaska and as an English tutor at SpeakOut camp in Keszthely, Hungary. These were formative times in my walk with Christ and developed me His follower and disciple. Through them, the Outdoor Leadership department at Young Harris, and the tugging of God on my heart, I was drawn to outdoor ministry.

At HoneyRock I am graduate student studying Outdoor and Adventure Leadership and working as a Graduate Assistant as the Wilderness Programs and 2:22 Coordinator. If I’m not in the woods on a wilderness trip, you can find me dancing to The Jackson Five, hanging out at the HoneyRock barn or doing cartwheels on Chrouser Lawn. I love living and learning at HoneyRock where I am able to deepen my relationship with Christ in intentional community that will prepare me for a life of ministry and I am excited to see what adventures God has planned!
