The TESOL Flex/Online Format is a flexible learning program for completing an M.A. in TESOL and Intercultural Studies.
The TESOL Flex Format is a 36 credit hour program that offers the required TESOL coursework in a three-year cycle each June and July, with up to 18 hours of online coursework during fall and spring semesters. These classes are taught in an intensive format (classes are one to three weeks long) on the Wheaton College campus for students who want to continue working in their current position throughout the year. The online classes are taught in a blended online/residential format which allows online students to participate in a graduate TESOL course taught on Wheaton's campus during the fall or spring semester. These are high-quality online courses taught exclusively by Wheaton's full-time faculty.
June and July formats are varied, including both a layered format and one-week intensives focusing on a single course.
The schedules for June and July are available several years in advance to aid students in their program planning. For information on summer courses, please review the summer session information.
Students may choose to take all of the required 36 credit hours on campus during their Summers-Only program or have the option of taking up to 18 hours through online courses. They will work with an advisor to plan out their 36 credit program.
Due to the intensity of this program and the short time in which students are on campus, it is important that students order text books and provide the required health and insurance information in a timely manner.
New students will receive information by email (to my.wheaton.edu accounts) on how to register for classes using the my.wheaton portal. Continuing students will register through the my.wheaton portal.
