Mission, Ministry and Leadership Alumni Stories

Here are the stories from current students and those who have graduated and moved on to the life and work that God has for them.

Our mission is to develop professionals skilled in theory and practice for culturally relevant service in a constantly changing world.

We hope you are encouraged as you read our faculties' highlights and students' stories as they serve, learn, and continue to grow throughout the year.

Lorna Dueck

lorna-dueck-cont“I don’t think I would have been able to sustain and imagine the needed public witness in media without the education I’ve been receiving in the Evangelism and Leadership Masters at Wheaton. I entered these studies for both skill and personal spiritual disciplines, pacing classes deliberately over time into my full time leadership duties on 6 networks and a national newspaper. The educational materials, personal mentoring, class dynamics and wealth of ideas and relationships the Evangelism and Leadership Masters has given me has been needed fuel to share the greatest idea the world has ever known; the Gospel.”

- Lorna Dueck; Host and Executive Producer of Context with Lorna Dueck

Matt Wilkinson

matt-wilkinson-cont“Given the shifting realities facing today’s Church, leading effectively and seeing people encounter the person and message of Jesus has become significantly more challenging. I have found personally that Wheaton’s Evangelism and Leadership M.A. program, practically and theologically, is unpacking in an unprecedented way what it will take to reach a post-Christendom people while equipping leaders to think and lead differently as a result.”

- Matt Wilkinson, Director of Youth & Family Ministries, Canadian Baptists of Ontario & Quebec

Trey Clark

trey-clark-cont"God used my amazing professors and peers in the Evangelism and Leadership program to help me better understand the beauty of the Gospel and more effectively engage in the ministry of evangelism in our increasingly post-Christian world."

- Trey Clark, Assistant Professor of Preaching, Fuller Theological Seminary

 Francie Winslow

francie-winslow-cont"My experience in the Evangelism and Leadership Masters program set the course for my journey not only in ministry, but in thinking well about the implications of the Gospel in my life and my generation. With historical and theological studies, spirit-infused teaching, pop culture exposure and context-specific application, this program produces well-rounded leaders who are equipped to impact their sphere of influence for the advancement of God's kingdom."

- Francie Winslow; Author, Blogger, Speaker

Marion Medina

Marion Medina"God seems to be doing a new-old thing in our day. Our ideas about the church and its mission are being challenged and redefined as we wade into an increasingly Godless culture. The Missional Church Movements masters program at Wheaton is giving me new filters through which to view the ever-changing cultural landscape and is equipping me with the effective, relevant tools for bringing Good News to a generation that grows increasingly far from Jesus Christ."

- Marion Medina, Strategic Consultant and Leadership Advisor, Founder at Generate Consulting and Discipleship, Director of Programs for 4word

Jake Kirchner

Jake Kirchner"Missional Church Movements has challenged me to reflection larger global perspectives and has given me insight and ideas that can be put into practice immediately."

- Jake Kirchner, Founder of RedwoodsRising

Matt Miller

Matt Miller"The Masters in Missional Church Movements has been an incredible learning experience as I strive to lead a missional church, and become a missional leader. Any leader who wants to inspire both spiritual and social change should consider this degree program at Wheaton College."
