Dr. Lynn Cohick, Department Chair and Dr. Keith Johnson, Assistant Chair

We are pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Lynn H. Cohick as Department Chair and Dr. Keith L. Johnson as Assistant Chair in the Biblical and Theological Studies Department for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Lynn Cohick, Ph.D.Dr. Cohick is a graduate of Messiah College, Grantham, PA (1984) and received her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania (1996). Her academic specialties include Pauline Epistles, Second-Century Christianity, and Women in Second Temple Judaism and the early church.

Her published work includes Philippians in Story of God Commentary (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2013); Ephesians in New Covenant Commentary (Eugene, OR: Cascade Books, 2010); Women in the World of the Earliest Christians (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Academic, 2009); The Peri Pascha Attributed to Melito of Sardis: Setting, Purpose and Sources, Brown Judaic Studies, 327 (Providence, RI: Brown University Press, 2000). She is Associate editor for the Story of God Bible Commentary series.

Keith Johnson, Ph.D.Dr. Johnson is a graduate of Baylor University (B.A., 1999, M.Div., 2002), Duke University (Th.M., 2004), and Princeton Theological Seminary (Ph.D., 2008). He teaches systematic theology and specializes in contemporary debates about the doctrines of the Trinity, Christology, salvation as well as the relationship between nature and grace.

He is the author of Theology as Discipleship (IVP Academic, 2015), Karl Barth and the Analogia Entis (T&T Clark, 2010), and the co-editor of the T&T Clark Companion to the Doctrine of Sin (T&T Clark, 2016) and Bonhoeffer, Christ, and Culture (IVP Academic, 2013). He also is the co-editor for the forthcoming Blackwell Companion to Karl Barth.
