Megan Ruenz Develops COVID19 E-Resource Tracking Tool

Megan RuenzMany library e-resources content providers, publishers, and vendors have responded quickly to the unique COVID-19 situation by offering special, free access to e-resources. As these offers began to flow in, Buswell Library faculty member, Megan Ruenz (E-Resources Management Librarian), quickly put together a central resource to track these offers (see https://guides.library.wheaton.edu/COVID19Offers).

Although primarily intended to benefit the Wheaton College community, her efforts have quickly attracted international attention and praise as one of the very first and most comprehensive compilations of such resources. In a few short days, her guide has generated more than 5,000 views from around the world and has been featured in a well-known library online journal. Libraries elsewhere have contacted her to ask about sharing her guide and praised her for her extensive efforts in a time of crisis.

This work on Megan's part has created a valuable service not only to Wheaton College but to the broader academic library community.
