Grace Walker, B.M., M.M.

Suzuki/Prep Violin and Viola

On Faculty since 2016




Grace teaches violin and viola students through the Community School of the Arts CODA and Prep programs. In addition to her pedagogy training under Dr. Beth Bauer at Wheaton College, she has received Suzuki training under teachers including Doris Preucil, Ann Montzka Smelser, April Losey, and Linda Case. She has taught in a variety of programs throughout the Chicago area and New Zealand and currently teaches in several CPS schools through DePaul University’s Community Music Division.  

In addition to her passion for teaching, Grace enjoys performing. While in her undergraduate studies at Wheaton, she won the string division of the 2016 Concerto Competition. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Violin Performance from DePaul University. Her teachers have included Doris Preucil, Paul Zafer, and Carolyn Stuart.  

In her free time, Grace enjoys visiting her family, working out, gardening, and learning new things.
