To Daniel, writing is like "going to see a movie. Before you go to see the movie, you have a vague idea of what the movie will be about, but you don’t fully know until sitting down in front of the screen. There are usually a lot of previews or ads distracting you from what you came to do. During the movie, you may get frustrated and think about stopping, but you can’t step away or you’d likely miss an important breakthrough moment. Like writing, the satisfying feeling when finished with the movie makes the long uncomfortable period at the beginning worth your time. Also, both of these can be made more enjoyable with snacks."
